Troubleshooting Guide

No mist at all

  • Check the water tank has sufficient water so the sump is filled and covers the transducer.
  • Ensure the transducer is plugged in and seated correctly in the sump, and that the black lead is not crossing over the top of the transducer disc – this can prevent mist forming.
  • If the above steps haven’t resolved the issue, the sump fan may have failed. Remove the water tank and mist nozzle, then gently insert the cleaning brush (supplied with your Opti-Myst) into the air outlet on the top right of the sump. You should hear a sound and feel vibration if the fan is working.
  • Check all four lamps are fitted and working.

No mist after 30 seconds

  • Check the transducer is plugged in and seated correctly. Ensure the black lead is not covering the white disc.
  • Follow a regular cleaning regime and remove any calcium deposits from the transducer using the cleaning brush.

Mist cuts out intermittently

  • Check there is sufficient water in the sump and the sump fan turns freely.
  • Check the transducer is seated correctly and the fan filter is positioned correctly. Also check no water has got underneath the glass disk.

Too much mist

  • Adjust the mist effect setting down on the fire.
  • If the problem continues, this may be a mist control issue – contact a service engineer.

Dimplex Transducer

Easy to order and delivered very quickly. A bit expensive but it’s the genuine dimplex transducer. I’ve bought cheaper ones in the past but they don’t last long. Definitely recommend the genuine part and definitely recommend Barry.
